In today’s lesson we were asked to model a series of objects, each within a short time frame. I began with an Aladdin style lamp in twenty five minutes. This is an additional exercise to prepare for unit 69.

I achieved this with six separate pieces. The body was a sphere which i resized into an ellipse. Next I made the base from a cylinder, using the top vertices to resize. I did the same for the lid and added a resized sphere as a handle. The handle was a little more tricky. I took a cylinder, elongated it, flattened it a little, and created a non linear bend until I had achieved a suitable shape. The same was done for the spout except the bend was near the tip of the spout. If I had more time I would have elongated the body more, flattening the top and bottom to give it a more suitable shape.
Next was a windmill.

This again was an assembly of simple shapes. A resized cylinder for the body, one for the roof. Two flattened, elongated, cubes for the sail frame, set in a cross, four flattened cubes for the sails. A cylinder for the centre pin on the sails, with a smaller cylinder behind, to attach it to the roof.
Lastly, a plant.

The pot was , again, a cylinder which I reshaped. The stem was a single cylinder stretched out. The leaves were made from flattened cubes, extruded and resized into a basic leaf shape then smoothed, with a small cylinder as a stem. I then connected them all together.
